LC Bulger is a man of determination and committment. Like many fathers who are no longer involved in a relationship with their children's mother, he has had to jump through many hoops to maintain a parental role in his children's lives. Why? There is no blanket answer but often, some women, find it extremely difficult to adjust to the fact that her child's father wants to continue a relationship with his child... but not with her. Such is the case with LC and his children's mother. After a six year relationship which produced twin boys and one girl, LC felt that it would be best to remain friends and jointly raise their children together. Initially, it seemed as though this arrangement would work. They shared custody of the children and LC was diligent to maintain a strong presence in their lives. LC has been described as a gentle father, even when it comes to discipline and is highly protective of his children.

Once, after a heavy snowstorm, LC shoveled the sidewalks for three

blocks from his house all the way to

the school so his kids, who didn't have

boots at the time, would not have to

walk in the snow. When LC's twins were

diagnosed with a

learning disability that was severely impacting thier progress at school, LC took a leave of absence from work to personally tutor his boys at home. It wasn't until LC started dating another woman, who ultimately became his wife, that the joint custody arrangement dissolved (at the mother's insistence) and the court awarded physical custody to her. Undaunted, LC continues to see his children two weekends a month at the Family Center and pay child support to their mother. LC is quick to say that this is not the most ideal situation since it limits his time with his

children to a mere four hours a month

but he's looking forward to the time when

things will get better. In the meantime,

LC and his wife Judy, stay active in their

church and their respective businesses.

Judy operates Bulger III Cleaning Services and LC is a much sought after personal trainer (The Body Unique). LC is also a paraprofessional at Washington Career High School and a volunteer coach for the Special Olympics.
